At the hospital, Daniel tends to Marlena who has just been attacked by the red tie killer. John arrives and Daniel tells him that Marlena will make a full recovery. Rafe is also in the room. Daniel tells him that his quick action, saved Marlena's life. Marlena stirs and Daniel asks her questions to determine her consciousness. . Her response indicates that she is ok. Daniel explains to Marlena that she will need to spend the night in the hospital for observation. He assures her that Rafe will assign a guard for her room and he assures Marlena John will also be on guard to keep her safe as well.
Later, Marlena rests, but wakes up alarmed when she thinks she sees the killer in her room, but is relieved when she sees it is Daniel.
