At Daniel's apartment, Melanie stays in and keeps Daniel company. They decide to watch a movie. Daniel puts the movie on hold until he has said goodnight to Parker. When he leaves the room, Brady is at the door. He wants to finish his date with Melanie. Melanie explains that she is staying home with Daniel tonight. Daniel returns and finds Melanie and Brady kissing at the door. Daniel is a bit distant with Brady. Brady gets a call and Melanie explains why Brady came by. When Daniel learns Melanie wants to give up a date to be with him instead of Brady, he clears the air. He tells Melanie and Brady that they have his blessing. That means a lot to both of them. Daniel sends them on their way to finish their date. Before they leave, Daniel gets a call from Victor. They all rush to the hospital. Sonny has been hurt.
When Daniel arrives at the hospital, he assures Victor he will do everything he can to save Sonny. In the operating room, Kayla informs Daniel that the blood supply for Sonny's operation is low. Daniel orders more blood stat.
