Daniel and Maggie cross paths in the hospital. Maggie reminds Daniel that she will throw him and Nicole the best engagement party ever. Daniel thanks Maggie for welcoming Nicole into the family. He knows it hasn't been easy. Maggie agrees. Nicole's past has not been stellar, but Maggie knows that she makes Daniel happy and that is all that matters.
Later, Daniel meets up with Nicole. Daniel learns from Nicole that Brady is willing to finance half her funding to buy Basic Black. Daniel doesn't think it is a good idea. He wants Nicole to turn Brady's offer down. Nicole asks him if he is jealous of Brady. Daniel says no. He thinks Brady will want to micromanage her and the company. Daniel thinks he has blown the wind out of Nicole's sail, but Nicole says no. He did not do that at all. Nicole plans to do what she intended to do and prove Daniel wrong.
