Eric meets with Nicole in her hospital room. He feels they need to discuss what happened between them. Daniel enters and overhears. He wants to know what happened also. Eric and Nicole look at each other woefully. Daniel thinks he knows what happened. Daniel hugs Eric and tells him how grateful he is that he saved Nicole. Eric asks him to stop. Nicole chimes in. Eric neds to tell Daniel what happened. Nicole directs the problem to Serena betraying Eric, instead of Eric and Nicole sharing a heated kiss. Daniel gets a text from Abe that Xander is being charged for murder. Eric leaves to find Serena.
Daniel sits on Nicole's bed. He has something he wants to tell her. He becomes emotional knowing that he could have lost her. He loves her. He needs her in his life. Nicole agrees. She sees this could be a fresh start and they should leave yesterday in the past. Daniel kisses Nicole unaware that Eric has entered the doorway and sees their reunion.
