Daniel and Jennifer are arguing over JJ when Daniel looks up and sees Paige standing in the doorway. Jennifer asks her what she heard. Paige apologizes for intruding. She only heard Jennifer ask Daniel what he was going to do about JJ. Paige gives Daniel Parker's toy and then leaves so Daniel and Jennifer can finish their conversation. Jennifer tells Daniel to keep JJ's secret a secret. Daniel tells Jennifer he can not do that. Jennifer is annoyed and tells Daniel they can no longer be friends.
Later, at the hospital, Daniel learns that his surgery has been cancelled. Nicole sees him and asks him to take her to lunch. Daniel is not in the mood to do lunch. Again Nicole feels like Daniel is pushing her away. She gives up and tells Daniel off. She is tired of him slapping her on the wrist for caring about him. She storms off in a huff.
Daniel returns home. He is upset with himself that he took his foul mood out on Nicole. He sits down and looks at the toy Paige dropped off. He thinks of how Paige is being duped. A knock comes at the door and Eve is there. She confronts Daniel. He knows about her and JJ. Daniel says he damn right knows.
