After a long night at the hospital, Daniel meets Maggie for coffee. He gives her a picture that Parker made for her. Daniel sees Nicole in the square and asks her to join them. Nicole sits down. Theresa spots the threesome and saunters over to start trouble. She asks Nicole how her date went with the hot guy. Daniel tells Theresa to get lost, but she continues. Daniel wants to talk to Theresa privately. He tells her to stop causing trouble between him and Nicole. Eric overhears what Theresa has done and drags her away from Daniel so he can talk with her.
Nicole tries to explain that the date was only coffee. Daniel understands Nicole wants something more and he is not ready to commit to a relationship with her. He leaves to go check on his patient.
Later Nicole catches up with Daniel at his office. She tries to explain, but Xander waltzes into the office and greets Daniel, much to Nicole's surprise.
