Daniel enters The Edge By The Square night spot looking for Rafe. He overhears Nicole talking to Rafe that he is out of town until later. Daniel approaches Nicole and tells her he is aware of her apologies to both Eric and Serena. He is glad she took that step. Nicole senses that Daniel might have more on his mind. He does. He hopes that she is making the changes for herself and not to please him. Nicole asks if they can be friends, but Daniel says no.
Back at Daniel's apartment, JJ shows up. He looks distraught. Daniel tries to get him to open up, but JJ struggles to confess what he has done. He asks Daniel what he wanted to see him about. Daniel points to his brown leather jacket and asks JJ is he wanted it. JJ flashes back to wearing that jacket when he was with Eve. He knows Paige now recognizes it. JJ panics and says no and abruptly leaves.
Later, Daniel drops by the clothing donations to Jennifer. She too is upset over JJ. She confides in Daniel that she believes Eve is somehow involved with JJ's depression over breaking up with Paige.
