Nicole is with Daniel. She cannot believe this is happening. She tells Daniel that he will save one of his friends lives and she knows he would have wanted it that way.
Maggie enters Daniel's room and tells Nicole that Brady will get Daniel's heart. Nicole loses it. Her hand caresses Daniels heart and she falls apart. Nicole cannot say goodbye. Maggie consoles her. She says Daniel will always be with them. Nicole & Maggie say their final goodbye to Daniel and both kiss him. Nicole sobs as she tells Daniel that she loves him. He was the best gift in her life. Maggie says she will see him again and wishes him a safe trip home. The orderlies begin to prepare Daniel for the heart transplant surgery.
Daniel is moved to the operating room. Nicole is looking through the bag of Daniel's personal items. She starts to cry holding his beaded bracelets. She looks at the pictures in his wallet. She stands up and yells at God asking why does he hate her. In the operating room, Fynn takes a moment before beginning the surgery. He wants to do it right, like Daniel would do.
Abigail finds Jennifer in the hospital. Jennifer is in good shape after the accident. She explains to Abigail about the accident. She tells Abigail that Daniel didn't make it. Both are emotionally taken aback by the realization that Daniel has died.
Later, Kayla announces to the family that the operation went well and Brady's heart is working. Maggie goes to call Melanie.
Maggie returns, telling Victor that her and Melanie agreed they were both lucky to have Daniel in their lives. Jennifer tells Abigail that she thought Daniel would be her friend for the rest of her life.
After the operation, Nicole goes to see Daniel in the morgue. She lowers the sheet covering his head and places her hands on his face. She begins to sob and Fynn steps in to hold her steady.
Fynn asks if there is anything he can do. Nicole says there is nothing anybody can do and quickly leaves Daniel's side. Fynn stares down at his beloved friend, Daniel.
