Serena shows up at Daniel's door. She has something that Daniel needs to hear. Daniel is skeptical of her motives, but lets her continue. Serena sees Nicole's jacket and asks if she is home. Daniel says she is out. Serena thinks it would be best if she waits for Nicole's return. Daniel tells Serena he is not interested in hearing her trash Nicole, especially since she is a liar. He shows her the door. Serena blurts out he may want to know that Eric and Nicole slept together the night Xander trapped them in the furnace room. Serena plays the recording for Daniel of Eric telling Nicole he loves her. Daniel is stunned when he hears the recording. He says he has heard enough. Serena leaves. Daniel slams the door.
Later, Maggie calls about the engagement party, but Daniel is upset and cannot talk to her. Nicole arrives hope happy as a lark until she sees the look on Daniel's face.
