Daniel arrives home to find candles lit, flowers, a cozy fireplace and a note. He reads the note then goes to the front door. When he opens it, Nicole is standing there. She asks if she can start over and celebrate the new year together. Daniel lets her in. He listens to Nicole's plea to start over. They almost kiss, but Daniel thinks they should go slow. Nicole elaborates on her mistakes and how she doesn't feel good enough for Daniel. Daniel tells her, he will make that decision. He then answers her with a kiss. When the kiss ends, Daniel tells Nicole he admits that there is a definite attraction, but he feels they need to take things slow. Nicole disagrees. She takes his hand and tells him she wants to reconnect with him in every way. Daniel replies that just because they have moved on does not mean there is any guarantees. Daniel asks if she really does understand. Daniel just doesn't want anyone getting hurt. Nicole assures Daniel she understands and tells him that this feels right. Daniel kisses her, takes her hand and leads her to the bedroom.
