At the gala, Daniel, Brady and Theresa join Kate and Nicole. Nicole tells the boys how handsome they look wearing suits altered by Theresa. Kate starts picking on Theresa in front of Brady, Nicole and Daniel. Brady sticks up for Theresa and tells Kate to shut up. Nicole and Daniel are happily amused at how Brady put Kate in her place.
Later, Nicole is talking with Eric. She is sorry they could not hire him at Basic Black. Eric says he is happy at the newspaper and glad he doesn't have to travel. When Daniel returns with Nicole's wine, Eric is polite, but cuts the conversation short. Daniel notices Eric quickly grabbing a drink from the server.
