Daniel stops by to see Serena. She is surprised by his visit. She is sorry she had to let him hear the recording of Eric's confession. Daniel tells Serena that she actually did him a favor. It has brought him and Nicole even closer than ever. Serena is stunned by the news. Daniel doesn't hate Serena, but he will use the recording to tell Nicole and Eric if she interferes again. Daniel doesn't want to see Eric or Nicole hurt again. He thinks it would be best if Serena moved on, started fresh and left town.
